I’m a picky eater myself so I get it if people have preferences with their meals. However, crazy hipster picky eaters I cannot stand. Allergies are fine, I do accommodate people with legitimate allergies and warn them what goes into their meals, but the ones who make up allergies to support their picky eating really gets to me.
The worst case of picky eating is that hipster who gets on a health/dietary fad and proceeds to make demands to what they don’t like to eat and attach the said fad onto it. Said hipster in the comic somehow does not know the difference between being vegan and vegetarianism. Hipster struts in like he owns the place then makes demands and “suggestions” on how we can make our deli a better place for everyone. Everyone in the department wanted to give said hipster a piece of their mind but I noticed his leather jacket. I also noticed he kept referring to himself as vegan over and over again. I opened my mouth and the rest is history.
Pays do one’s research or exercise one’s right to eat somewhere else. It’ll save them the embarrassment or as seen from said hipster, he was so clueless he didn’t even know what hit him.
Making edits to the comic was fun. I’ve written this piece almost a year ago and when it went to making the comic, as seen from the original post, I’ve made some adjustments. Wanted the original title to be “vegan” but I really didn’t want to vilify a group for misunderstanding. Mimie came up with “hipster” and it fit perfectly.
To all hipsters I may have offended, I’m sorry. However, knowing hipsters, you probably are gonna deny you’re one anyway.
